Pace University

Pace University is a private university located in New York City and Westchester County, New York. Founded in 1906, it operates campuses in Lower Manhattan and Pleasantville, with additional facilities in White Plains. Pace University was founded in 1906 in New York City by brothers Homer St. Clair Pace and Charles Ashford Pace as a school of accountancy and business. Originally known as the Pace Institute, the school began in rented classrooms in Lower Manhattan and quickly expanded, offering practical business education in several cities. In 1948, the institution broadened its curriculum with the creation of Dyson College of Arts and Sciences and adopted the name Pace College. Pace University achieved university status in 1973 after approval by the New York State Board of Regents. During the late twentieth century, it expanded its physical footprint with the development of One Pace Plaza and the establishment of its Pleasantville campus in Westchester County. In the twenty-first century, Pace University has continued campus renovations and academic growth while remaining rooted in its New York City origins.
