Life Pacific University

Life Pacific University is a private Christian university located in San Dimas, California. Affiliated with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, the institution provides biblically centered higher education rooted in the Pentecostal tradition. Life Pacific University offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in areas such as theology, ministry, business, psychology, communication, and liberal studies. The university is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission and the Association for Biblical Higher Education. Life Pacific University was founded in 1923 in Los Angeles, California, as the Echo Park Evangelistic and Missionary Training Institute by evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson, founder of the Foursquare Church. Established to train ministers and missionaries, the institute moved in 1926 next to Angelus Temple and became LIFE Bible College. During the mid-20th century, Life Pacific University expanded its academic offerings, introducing four-year degree programs in the 1940s and additional theology and religious education degrees in the 1950s. In 1990, the institution relocated to San Dimas, California. The name Life Pacific College was adopted in the early 2000s, reflecting broader academic programming. In 2019, Life Pacific University was formally renamed and restructured with the creation of the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Theology and Ministry, marking its transition to university status while continuing its Pentecostal mission.
