Colorado Christian University was founded in 1914 in Denver, Colorado, as the Denver Bible Institute by Clifton Fowler, who sought to train Christian workers and ministers. The institution later became Denver Bible College and eventually Rockmont College, reflecting a broader liberal arts focus. In 1989, Rockmont College merged with Western Bible Institute to form Colorado Christian University, establishing its present name and structure. The university relocated its main campus to Lakewood, Colorado, where it expanded academic programs and facilities. Throughout the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, Colorado Christian University developed undergraduate and graduate offerings, including adult and online education programs.
