The Limits of AI Tutoring

It is just as important to acknowledge the limits. AI tutor has no empathy, has no context. They can't feel when a student is getting frustrated, losing interest or feeling a little blue. It is possible that they would be over-simplified, that the instructor of only one person has to find new ways to express more or less the same situation, instead of proper pedagogy. For sophisticated fallacies, a human tutor's diagnostic instinct is still needed.

And then there are ethical questions about dependency. If students are relying heavily on A.I. to solve problems, they can shortcut the cognitive struggle that deep learning is supposed to develop. Risks: What Could Go Wrong

However, the enthusiasm for GenAI must be tempered by a sober look at its risks.

Accuracy and Hallucinations
